... But to REALLY screw things up, you need a computer. Or in my case, an external hard drive that has died, taking with it years of photos, artwork, writing, music... you name it.

So, needless to say, while I am waiting to see what can be recovered, it's thrown a bit of a spanner in the works. Hopefully, normal service can be restored soon. Until then, here is some light music...

*cue tinny old recording of "The Girl From Ipanema"*

So, my new long-run project commences. Lots of stories, and lots of pictures to come. And it might be noticed that the style is somewhat different from my previous work. So, I thought that I ought to offer a little insight into this new project.

Hollow Wood City is set in a world that is very close to our own, with a technology base that is roughly equal to the early to mid twentieth century. But this is a world where the Age of Reason never happened, and for good reason. The supernatural is a reality. The Darkness, a primal force that waits on the edge of the waking world, threatens and attempts to break through, bringing death, fear and misery with it. The mundane lives of society sit on a knife-edge, protected by a cadre of harsh and vigilant investigators, and the draconian system of enforcement and punishment that they use to hold back the Darkness.

In this world, it is not considered a gift to be endowed with psychic abilities, or supernatural powers. It is considered a curse, and a cause for distrust, fear, discrimination and damnation. For those few people who are born with such abilities, life must be spent either hiding in the shadows, trying to avoid notice, or it is spent under the full and unwavering gaze of a society and a system that regards them as an "Unnatural", a blight upon humanity.

For Poppy Strangeways and her fellow Indentured Special Investigators, the choice was taken from them at an early age. Given up to the authorities at an early age by parents who regarded their children as cursed, they have been raised in a draconian system, trained by unwavering and unsympathetic taskmasters, and then turned over to the Department of Special Investigations as tools to be used by their handlers. On one side, they are faced with a system that regards them as inhuman. On the other side, they face a force of supernatural evil that wishes to claim them, or to destroy them. It's a hell of a tightrope for a small group of young women to have to walk.

Now, all that remains is to see if they manage to walk that line, and still stay true to themselves.

One of my earlier DiD/Bondage themed pics got removed under a terms violation. And do you know what? I finally feel at home here! :)
I didn't think I was doing it right, quite frankly. But now, one of my pics was judged to be sufficiently "Pornographic" for it to be removed. So, as a DiD/Bondage artist... I finally made my bones ;)

So, you might have noticed the title of the first installment of the Drake's Detectives story. End Game.
Yup. It is the last story, for the forseeable future.
There are good reasons for this. I could have gone on writing for Molly and co, and their redoubtable enemies. But I've been following a set timeline for them. And this is the end of the stories.
Molly and co are growing up. The days where they could spend their time solving crimes and dodging villains (or failing to dodge them on many occasions) are coming to an end. They have lives to live, and futures to follow.
Also, I have been working on a new project, which will be making its debut soon. It might be a very different style of story to the ones I have written so far, but hopefully one that you will all enjoy.
In the meantime, I'd like to thank all of you who have followed Molly's stories, and enjoyed them, and commented on them, faved them, and watched me as a result of them. It's been a lot of fun writing them, and I hope it's been fun to read them too! I'd also like to thank the endlessly patient :icongolavus: for allowing me to drag his own heroines, often kicking and screaming, into my setting.
Maybe Molly and co will return some day, in some form. Who knows what the future holds?
But for now, just sit back, strap yourselves in, and hold on tight, folks. Because this story is going to be one hell of a ride!

I've been given a heads up that the deviation notification system seems to be on the fritz... It seems to be missing out on telling people about new written deviations. Journal and art deviations are working as normal.

So, I'm off to go hunting to look at the writers on my watch list, and you all might want to do the same!

Oh yes, and I'm going to use this to shamelessly plug the fact that I have posted a New first installment of the latest case for The Drake Detective Agency!

Peace to all!
